The Enviro Team Keeping Marica Ahead of the Game

Whether it’s engaging with key stakeholders such as the National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS), the EPA, Snowy Hydro Limited, or monitoring water basins and mitigating environmental risks, the Marica Environmental Team consistently lead with integrity, precision, and purpose.

The team – Jima Okori (Coordinator), Gabriel McGhee (Advisor), Robbert McCann (Advisor), Christopher Lewis (Trades Assistant), and Mitch Champion (TA) – tackle complex challenges head-on. They navigate evolving regulatory landscapes and deliver outcomes that are not only technically sound but socially responsible. Jima shares, “I’m privileged to be on this site at this time of the year… with TBM Monica coming up now.”

Under their remit, the team oversees the existing camp (currently doubling in size), the Surge Shaft Pad and the expansion works associated with the launch of TBM Monica. Recently they completed staged clearing and grubbing of areas for the construction of five new pads to support TBM operations. Each stage of clearing was subject to rigorous inspection to ensure compliance and environmental integrity.
