Proud to support local school’s study tour
Snowy 2.0 scrap building supplies were converted into donations towards Tumut High School’s recent trip to Europe. Earlier this year, 20 local students and four Tumut High teachers embarked on a memorable journey to Italy and France as part of the school’s European Tour program established more than 20 years ago.
The international study program was successfully relaunched this year after a brief COVID-19 interruption thanks to the generous support of sponsors such as Future Generation and the Snowy 2.0 project.
Future Generation JV Environment Manager Ellen Porter and Community Engagement Lead Luke Judd were proud to represent the project recently at a school assembly in Tumut to hear about the tour directly from the students and teachers.
The students fulfilled lifelong aspirations, such as seeing the Eiffel Tower, viewing the Mona Lisa, and making authentic pizza in Italy. For some the meaningful engagement with Australian history at the ANZAC Day dawn service in Villers-Bretonneux, France was an experience they will never forget.
Support for the program was facilitated through the Snowy 2.0 steel recycling initiative, which has been operational for two years in collaboration with JJ Richards, our waste management contractor.
This is one example of how recycled building material proceeds are allocated to community programs that support education, sustainability, economic development, and social programs.
Future Generation and our Snowy Delivery workforce are committed to supporting the local communities in which we live and work.
