Meet the Team | Giovanni Pellitteri

Meet Giovanni Pellitteri, TBM & Fixed Plant Mechanical Manager at Future Generation Joint Venture, working on the iconic Snowy 2.0 Project! Hailing from Itay, Giovanni joined the project in August 2020, bringing with him over 25 years of experience working on complex projects across the globe.

“I was drawn to the construction industry by a passion for large-scale engineering and mechanical systems. The dynamic nature of tunnelling projects, the opportunity to work with cutting-edge machinery, and the challenge of solving complex problems in diverse environments have kept me motivated throughout my 27-year career.

“Over the past four years, I have been directly involved in the planning, execution, and maintenance of TBM operations for this landmark hydroelectric project.

“As the TBM & Fixed Plant Mechanical Manager at FGJV, I oversee the assembly, commissioning, launching, and maintenance of the three Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and all associated auxiliary plants, including tunnel conveyors and grouting systems.

“In my role, I coordinate a team of more than 120 people, ensuring all mechanical operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with project timelines and standards.

“Recently, I have also been overseeing the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for TBM 4, verifying the machine meets all technical and operational specifications needed before it is delivered to site.

“TBM 4 itself is an engineering marvel; it’s been specially designed to meet the unique geological and environmental challenges of the Snowy 2.0 project.

“I am very proud to be a part of this phase of the project and look forward to working with the team as we assemble the newest TBM!”
