Meet Amr Zakzouk

When Amr Zakzouk first heard about Snowy 2.0, he was working on a major infrastructure project in Saudi Arabia—but the scale and ambition of Australia’s largest renewable energy initiative quickly caught his attention.

“This isn’t just any project,” Amr says. “It’s a game-changer. The impact it will have on Australia is enormous, and I’m proud to be part of it.”

Now based in the Snowy Mountains, Amr serves as a Senior Contracts Administrator in the Commercial team under Sally Law. With a sharp eye for detail and a passion for the legal and contractual side of construction, Amr ensures FGJV’s obligations are met with precision. “I need to make sure the outcome of every contract is a perfect one,” he explains.

His role involves close collaboration with Snowy Hydro, identifying potential contractual issues and in working collaboratively in maintaining strong client relationships. From tunnelling targets for TBMs 2 and 3 to key performance milestones, Amr plays his part in keeping the project on track.

Outside of work, Amr is pursuing a master’s degree in construction law at Melbourne University. When he’s not studying or reviewing contracts, you’ll find him enjoying action and horror films, playing billiards and pool, or dominating the table tennis court at Joule Ridge—where his serve has earned legendary status.

Originally from Asyut, Egypt, Amr earned his civil engineering degree there and met his wife Rehab at university. Rehab now works on the project as a Procurement Officer in the Expediting team. Together, they’ve made a home locally with their three daughters, aged 12, 9, and 3.

We’re thrilled to have Amr—and his family—on board.

His global experience and dedication are just one example of the contributing role each team member plays in helping drive Snowy 2.0 forward.
